RULES FOR VISITORS

As with other F1 events, São Paulo Grand Prix visitors are obliged to abide by the rules set by the organisers. Below you will find a basic overview of them.

WHAT CAN'T YOU TAKE WITH YOU?

Items that can be used to damage or deface property - or any part of the circuit and its surroundings - as well as obstructions, hindrances or interruptions to the race, affecting public safety, as well as any merchandise or tickets for commercial distribution and any dangerous items, are prohibited by law. Anyone entering the entertainment area will be subject to a check/search. Refusal may result in not being admitted without a refund. Please note that certain items are not allowed to be brought into the entertainment area.

The list of prohibited items includes, but is not limited to

Any kind of weapon, whether firearms, blades and types thereof (or parts thereof), for example:

  • Any type of firearms.
  • Any part of a firearm.
  • Any type of ammunition or gunpowder.
  • Objects that look like firearms - e.g., toys, replicas or simulacra, and weapons that emit light or sparks.
  • Pneumatic weapons and air guns.
  • Any object that can be used as an improvised weapon.
  • Knives, scissors, daggers, swords, pocket knives, razor blades.
  • Drills, saws, harpoons, arrows, axes, utility knives, screwdrivers, needles.
  • Hammers, pliers.
  • Paddles, sticks, clubs and similar equipment.
  • Any other item that could be used to harm other people.

Flammable materials, explosive substances or equipment, such as:

  • Pyrotechnic artefacts - e.g. flares, smoke bombs.
  • Explosive substances - e.g. TNT, dynamite, plastic explosives.
  • Electrical detonators and detonator caps.
  • Fireworks of any kind.
  • Any suspicious device or mechanism that could be used to activate explosives remotely or locally.
  • Any object that can be used as an improvised explosive device.

Bulky objects, meaning any object larger than 25 cm x 25 cm x 25 cm that cannot be placed between the legs or that takes up space, such as:

  • Styrofoam boxes.
  • Folding chairs.
  • Coolers or thermo boxes.
  • Large bags.
  • Backpacks, suitcases sports bags and similar;

Items that are detrimental to the continuity of the event, may cause injury or be thrown, such as:

  • Glass items or any other breakable or rigid material such as Tupperware, Tetra Pak packaging, bowls, bottles and cups even if made of plastic, cans.
  • Sticks.
  • Camera support.
  • Pepper or mustard sprays.
  • Neuromuscular incapacitating machines (tasers).
  • Laser pointers, strobe lights or other light-emitting devices.
  • Point pen.
  • Umbrellas and parasols.
  • Canes and crutches.
  • Selfie stick.
  • Flagpoles.
  • Paint, among other things.

Professional objects for capturing images and sound, for example:

  • Professional cameras (interchangeable lens).
  • Professional filming equipment.
  • Drones or other flying objects.

Objects that create excessive noise, such as:

  • Megaphone, siren or gas horn.
  • Musical instruments.

Also not allowed to take the following to the circuit, for example:

  • Clothing that completely covers the face and does not allow identification of the person.
  • Posters, flags or banners larger than 2.0 x 1.5 metres, signs, leaflets, objects or clothing with references to offensive, homophobic, racist or xenophobic causes.
  • Large quantities of paper and/or paper rolls, dust, flour or similar substances.
  • Liquids of any kind, including alcoholic or non-alcoholic beverages.
  • Any substance prohibited or regulated by current legislation, such as narcotics, drugs or stimulants.
  • Animals of any species, except guide dogs, with appropriate training and on presentation of an identification card and tag issued by the Guide Dog Training Centre, an up-to-date vaccination certificate and the animal's equipment, in accordance with current legislation.

WHAT CAN YOU TAKE WITH YOU?

We generally recommend visitors of F1 races to pack light and take only the essentials - money, phone, spare battery for their camera, etc. There is a wide range of food and drinks available at the race circuit, of course, remember your ticket for each specific day and valid ID for yourself and your children.
